Terms and Conditions

  1. Introduction

    • Agreement: By booking a car with Wanderlust Car Rental, you agree to comply with these terms and conditions.
    • Services Provided: We provide car for self-drive in Goa, subject to availability and confirmation.
    • Modifications: We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. It is your responsibility to review them periodically for updates.
  2. Booking and Reservations

    • Booking Process: Self driven car needs to be booked with the necessary details such as pick-up location, drop-off location, rental dates, car model, and customer details along with the advance payment to reserve the car.
    • Booking Confirmation: The booking will be confirmed over WhatsApp once the advance payment is processed.
    • Reservation Changes: Changes to booking dates, car models, or rental duration must be made 24 to 48 hours before the rental period starts. Changes are subject to availability and may incur additional charges.
    • Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be made at least 24-48 hours before the scheduled pick-up time to receive a refund, subject to a cancellation fee. Late cancellations or no-shows may result in a non-refundable deposit.
  3. Rental Requirements

    • Age Requirement: The minimum age for renting a car is 21 years. For certain vehicle categories, the minimum age may be higher (e.g., 25 years for premium or luxury cars).
    • Driver’s License: Customer must present a valid driver's license at the time of pick-up. If the driver is from outside India, an International Driving Permit (IDP) is recommended, but a valid foreign driver’s license in English may suffice.
    • Reservation Changes: Changes to booking dates, car models, or rental duration must be made 24 to 48 hours before the rental period starts. Changes are subject to availability and may incur additional charges.
    • Identification: Customer must provide a valid government-issued ID (e.g. AdharCard, Voting Card or passport for foreign nationals)
  4. Payment and Charges

    • Payment Methods: Payments can be made via cash in hand, net banking or UPI transactions at the time of booking or at pick-up.
    • Security Deposit: A refundable security deposit is required at the time of vehicle pick-up. The amount of the deposit varies based on the car type and rental duration. This deposit will be refunded if the car is returned in the same condition.
    • Rental Charges: The rental fee is based on the selected car type, rental duration, and any additional services (e.g. driver). These charges are confirmed at the time of confirming the booking.
    • Fuel Policy: There will be sufficient fuel to approach the fuel bank. We request to return the same fuel which was provided at the time of vehicle pickup. Kindly note we will NOT be able to reimburse fuel amount if the access amount of fuel is kept in the tank at the time of vehicle return.
    • Additional Fees: Additional charges may apply for late returns, additional drivers, cross-border travel.
    • Geographical Restrictions: Driving outside Goa is strictly prohibited also, driving to certain remote areas might incur additional fees or be prohibited.
  5. Insurance and Liability

    Insurance coverage does not cover:

    • Damage to the car due to negligence, such as reckless driving, driving under the influence, or off-roading.
    • Tire, glass, or roof damage.
    • Loss of personal items.
    • Loss of Car keys.
    • Excess Liability: The Customer agrees to pay the excess amount in case of damage or theft.
    • No Insurance for Unauthorized Use If the car is used for unauthorized purposes (e.g., illegal activities, off-road use), insurance coverage will be void, and the Customer is liable for the full cost of repairs or replacement and the full rent of the days it takes for repairs.
  6. Vehicle Condition and Usage

    • Inspection: Upon pick-up, the car will be inspected, and the Customer must acknowledge the condition of the vehicle. Any existing damage must be documented over a video and photos
    • Car Maintenance: Renters are responsible for basic upkeep of the car during the rental period (e.g., keeping tires inflated, ensuring the vehicle is roadworthy).
    • Prohibited Uses: The car must not be used for:
      • Off-roading or driving on non-paved roads.
      • Transporting goods.
      • Transporting goods.
      • Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
      • Driving on restricted roads.
      • Racing or reckless driving.
    • Modifications: Customers may not modify the car in any way (e.g., adding accessories, altering the engine).
  7. Car Return and Late Fees

    • Return Location: The car must be returned to the agreed-upon location and at the specified time. Late returns may incur an additional charge.
    • Late Return Fee: If the car is returned more than 30 minutes late, a late fee will be charged, typically calculated on daily basis.
    • Condition of Car: The car must be returned in the same condition as it was rented, barring normal wear and tear. Additional cleaning or damage repair costs may be charged if the car is returned excessively dirty or damaged.
    • Inspection upon Return: The car will be inspected at the time of return for any damage, and the Customer will be notified of any charges.
  8. Liability for Loss or Damage

    • Theft or Loss: The Customer is liable for the full cost of replacement if the car is stolen or damaged due to the Customer’s negligence. In case of theft, a police report must be filed.
    • Damage to Car: The Customer is responsible for the cost of any damage to the car that occurs during the rental period. This includes damages not covered by insurance, such as windshield cracks, tire damage, and interior damage.
    • Road Traffic Violations: The Customer is responsible for any fines or penalties incurred during the rental period, including parking tickets, speeding fines, or traffic violations.
    • Inspection upon Return: The car will be inspected at the time of return for any damage, and the Customer will be notified of any charges.
  9. Customer Responsibilities

    • Driving Standards: The Customer agrees to drive responsibly, adhering to local traffic laws, and follow all safety measures.
    • Accidents and Breakdown: In case of an accident or breakdown, the Customer must:
      • Notify Wanderlust Car rental immediately and provide a police report if required.
      • Not admit fault or settle the matter without consulting Wanderlust Car rental.
      • Customer is requested to park the vehicle in the pay parking only.
      • Any stunts being performed by customers on the vehicle like, moving out of window in moving car, Standing/Sitting on moving car etc is strictly prohibited.
    • Contact Information: The Customer is required to provide accurate contact information and notify the Wanderlust Car rental of any changes during the rental period.
  10. Roadside Assistance

    • 24/7 Service: Wanderlust Car rental offer 24/7 roadside assistance in case of mechanical breakdowns, flat tires, or other emergencies, but it’s important to verify the scope of this service at the time of rental.
    • Towing Charges: User negligence/accident- Full cost should be paid by the customer.
    • Modifications: We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. It is your responsibility to review them periodically for updates.
  11. Privacy Policy

    • Data Collection: We collect personal information such as name, address, contact details, and payment information to process bookings and provide services.
    • Data Protection: We ensure the protection of your personal data as per applicable laws and our privacy policy. Your details will not be shared with third parties without consent.
    • Modifications: We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. It is your responsibility to review them periodically for updates.
  12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

    • These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of India.
    • Disputes arising under these terms will be resolved in the courts of Goa, India.
